2007-01-17 − Robots at University - Students at Plymouth University are now getting hands on experience of flexible automation, following the installation of four high tech Mitsubishi robots by Barr & Paatz from nearby Totnes. The Mitsubishi RV-2AJ five axis robot is designed to be flexible and adaptable to a great many tasks in manufacturing industry. They are also used in fields such as research labs, mediacl facilities and CD pressing plants. There 64 bit controller makes them highly intelligent and thier poweful servo motors enable them to work with payload of up to 2kg.

2007-01-17 − Laser cell uses latest positioning technology - The first use of the new MR-J3 super servo has been made by automation specialist TEC of Melton Mowbray, which has used them to drive an x-y table in a laser marking cell it has developed. Launched only at the 2006 Hanover Fair in April, the MR J3 series is Mitsubishi Electric’s latest generation of servo amplifiers and motors. Designed to be easy to install and configure with vibration suppression and advanced autotuning, a high-resolution absolute position encoder is fitted as standard.
